If you are having problems signing in or registering for the first time, please send an email to me at info@corporateflyer.net

Please tell me which site {Corporate Flight Attendant Community or Aviation Employment Board} is giving you problems, the nature of the problem, and your screen name.

I need your screen name to see what settings may be blocking your access. I will probably have to change your password, but you can change it to something else once you log in again. BTW, passwords are encrypted so I only know them if you give them to me. Therefore, only forward your screen name and I'll take it from there.

Commonly asked questions lately include:

If I register with the F/A site, why do I have to re-register with the AEB?

Unlike EZBoard, I have set up separate databases for the two sites. Thus, registering at one site does not give you access to the other site unless you register there.

Why did you make the move from EZBoard to php without warning us?

On May 31st EZBoard was hacked and over 9000 sites were damaged or basically destroyed. Once this happened all bets were off as far as my relationship with EZBoard went. I did not want to publicize openly my thoughts or plans [more about that in a future update], but I was forced into action when additional threads started to disappear and new registrants were not being adequately registered.

Essentially, from May 31st until about June 8th I was unable to provide more than basic service and the old site was in tatters. As of this date, June 17th, only partial restoral has been achieved by EZBoard with no guarantee of a complete restoral. In addition, when I found out that EZBoard's data and the backups were all hacked, I knew that their security measures were weak and I did not want to be vulnerable once again to them. With php I can and do backup all the information, something that EZBoard provides for administrators.

Sometimes I log on and get kicked out. What is that all about?

Certain users, particularly those with AOL accounts, may have some trouble from time to time. I am monitoring the situation and taking the necessary steps to make sure that access to this site by visitors is unimpeded.

Will old threads be restored?

It all depends on EZBoard. If they can get the data back, I'll do my best moving threads over. The one drawback is that the old threads may trip up this site to the point that your log in may be automatically changed. As I cannot access EZBoard's database housing your screen names and passwords, php assigns a generic password to the old threads which, in turn, will change your current password if you kept the same screen name. Thus, I would have to go back and manually change nearly everyone's password...a real nightmare with over 100 people now registered! Still, if I can find a 'fix' I'll move the threads over as many contain some very good information.

What about Corporate Jet Catering? What are your plans for that site?

A very good question. Right now my gut tells me to leave it as is...for now. Fortunately, it received the least amount of hacking of the 5 EZBoard sites I was managing at the time of the hacking. It is also my most challenging site in that it has well over 100 mini forums associated with it. So, in order to concentrate on the work at hand I will leave it there for now with the intention of moving it at some time in the future.

Can we have a navigation bar to the rest of the site?

Yes, I will be designing something in the near future which will make the transition from the forum to the web pages seamless. With EZBoard it was an easier thing to do and I want to find something that fits well with the site. FYI: php is almost a totally different operating language than the one used by EZBoad. Necessity forced me to make the move and take a crash course [pun intended] in php. I am still learning!

You make a bundle of money off of this site, right?

Yeah, right.

This site produces a minimal amount of income. Fees for listed resumes, some banner ads, and the Google ads bring in revenue. I haven't calculated it lately, but if I "clear" $3000 a year after expenses I would consider that figure to be about normal. With all my sites I made no more than 13K last year. Thus, my web design business is what really keeps me afloat: www.thearticlewriter.com and is something I am concentrating on doing more and more. Anyone need a website? :)

If you have any other questions or comments, please post them as a response to this message.

Thank you,
Matt Keegan

Hi Islandtraveler,

Right underneath the "Just For Newbies" heading is a Paypal button. You need not have an account with Paypal and it is an excellent way to give.

Thank you in advance!

Matt K. :)
