Help!!

I think this is the best place to get noticed !!

I am going to Split in Croatia tomorrow and I am wondering if anyone has been there and can recommend somewhere for good catering.

We stayed there recently and the hotel was 'minimalist' -but not in the modern way!!! ;-)

I am trying to impress my employer as I am only under contract with him now and would like to stay permanently

Any recommendations would be gratefully accepted.

Been there
The best thing to do is too bring plenty of canned items and supplement with fresh market items
i feel for you!

What a nightmare

Despite going to the kitchen myself, with an interpreter, all my own containers and with specific instructions...

The fish still had its skin and bones (mind you I guess I should be happy they took its head off)

3 HUGE loaves of bread - for one passenger !!

Potatoes only come in one form -fries - if you don't like that - you don't get any!! ( as I discovered)

Mozarella in a bag - despite being assured it would be fresh!

My plan was - apologize and smile A LOT - remains to be seen if I get the job on a permanent basis.

Thanks for the help

I feel your pain. I know that feeling when you have created in your mind's eye a splendid meal. Then you get what you get.

I now do most of the shopping myself. Foreign grocery stores are almost like a musen to me. I can see how people eat and shop. But at times, stores are closed and I only have 8 hours.

Good luck, I hope they keep you.
