Hi all,

Hoping you can help me re the salary question. I am interested in a position in the Middle East which is working one month on, and then one month off ( so only working 6 months of the year). I think this is quite a normal practice in that part of the world. The package included accommodation rent paid for, medical, per diem for night flights/layovers etc, plus 4 flights a year. What salary would best reflect this and what would be the average salary for a pattern that was 1 month on/1 month off.
Many thanks in advance!

It all depends......are you a US citizen gaining work over there?

Many years ago, I didn work for a US-based Prince who had the crew on a similar "month on, month off" in Saudi Arabia. The pay was LLLOOOOWWW! Yes, we had corporate benefits, but the PIC took our passports when we arrived in Saudi and the "month on" usually strtched to six or seven weeks and without your passport, you were really stuck!

Everyday, from the 30th day "On," we heard we were leaving and we packed and ordered catering, but the Prince was a no show.

We got lots of "gifts" (bracelts and envelopes with consecutive hundred dollar bills), but no health bennies and no retirement.

My advice---get it ALL spelled out BEFORE you levae the good old USA. Good luck!
