Position Description

Functions in a dedicated flight service capacity on multiple type jet aircraft performing all safety-related in-flight cabin duties to ensure passenger and crew safety. Monitors aircraft interior systems and telecommunications equipment and provides for the care, comfort and well-being of passengers on assigned flights. Maintains the aircraft cabin interior and re-stocking of supplies. Participates in pre/post flight crew briefings.



Fully understands changes in own and fellow senior employees' work and situations; is frequently called upon to explain the logic or basis for change to other employees; is generally seen as an expert on information about changes affecting own and fellow senior employees' jobs; occasionally mentors fellow employees around the change. Treats changes and new situations as opportunities for learning or growth; focuses on the beneficial aspects of change; speaks positively about the change to fellow senior employees and external customers. Quickly modifies behavior to deal effectively with changes in the work environment; readily tries new approaches appropriate for new or changed situations; does not persist with ineffective behaviors.

Safety Awareness
Consistently detects hazardous working conditions and safety problems; checks equipment and/or work area regularly. Reports or corrects unsafe working conditions; makes extensive recommendations and/or improves safety and security procedures; consistently enforces safety regulations and procedures. Monitors safety or security issues after taking corrective action and ensures continued compliance.


Crew Resource Management
Advanced knowledge of crew resource management procedures and techniques (e.g., communications, decision-making, situational awareness). The ability to comprehend and communicate complex program related operational requirements.

Federal Aviation Reg
Extensive and specialized knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Parts 21, 25, 43, 65, 91, 119, 121, and 145 on the maintenance, certification, repair, and operation of aircraft to ensure compliance in concept and design.

Medical Emergency Response
Extensive and specialized knowledge of current certification standards for basic life support (BLS), standard first aid, blood borne pathogens, and automated external defibrillator (AED) use.

Typical Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

I have a friend there and she has been with them for over 20 years..She lives in ORD and drives down, as their schedule is set. not very many last minute flights..

It's possible to have a Master's Degree in this industry these days. I'm continually amazed at the educational backgrounds of my flying partners. May the flight gods be with all of us.
