The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an alert that warns consumers not to eat certain batches of Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter, because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria.
The affected jars of Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter have a product code located on the lid of the jar that begins with the number "2111." If you have any of this peanut butter, discard it immediately. If you become ill and have recently eaten peanut butter, contact your doctor immediately. Click here for more information

All this talk of salmonella in peanut butter had me craving a pb&j sandwich yesterday. We dont go through peanut butter that fast so we have some from way before the scare.

Unfortunately there are lots of food products that have problems and we don't even know it. I hope very few people have actually became ill due to the salmonella that had been found in peanut butter. So sad to think we can't go to the grocery store and trust the foods we purchase and consume.
