Stock rooms are a total luxury, but i have used metal file-like cabinets in the past. The tall kind, that you see used in a/c hangar.

Default stock rooms

I have a good size stock room but want to re-do it. I have the metal type shelves but It always looks so cluttered with everything out there so was just wanting to get ideas from others. Ideally Id like to have it used as both my stock room and office but dont want to feel like im sitting in a stock room lol.

Default stockroom decorating!!

I've had both the file cabinet kind and the chrome racks. In a previous flight dept. our stock room was our office as well, so we dressed it up a bit like the girl's that we are!! There are these clear plastic liners to put on the shelves to keep small stuff from falling through, which keeps it neat. Depending on the items, we used small-medium clear plastic tubs and also baskets w/fabric liners in different fabrics. Got some nice square and rectangular ones at the Dollar Store one time. Had these square wicker hampers that we lined up side/side for dirty linens..didn't use much space. When its your office too, you gotta make it as nice as ya' can..eases the pain being there!!! Get one of those framed corkboards, hang it up and tack postcards from layovers. Get a pretty fabric shower curtain (most chrome shelves are about that height), some of those curtain rings with the clips and hang the curtain on the ends, fronts, or in front of stuff you don't use all the time.

My "stock room" is just a bank of floor-to-ceiling kitchen cabinets in my office. It works out okay, but the cabinets are not very deep, and so all the individual snacks have to come out of their boxes. I bought clear plastic bins to keep everything organized. The interior shelves are adjustable though, so you can get taller items in. I do like having everything behind closed doors, helps keep everything looking neat, even when its not 100% perfect.
