Default Importing food from another country

Hello,
Hope everyone is doing well. Ok well ive run into a problem and was wondering if anyone can help. There is a particular type of food my principal likes to have onboard. It has to be this particular brand but of course it is not distributed here in the US. I cant have it shipped directly to me because It is a food item and I dont have an import lic. Ive called the big caterer out of TEB but they have been of no help to me. can any one reccomend another avenue or has anyone ran into this? Or if anyone knows of a way around this you can PM me. I want to get a food product from either france or london to me so let me know! Safe travels!

As long as it is neither Agriculture or Meat, it should be allowed into the States.

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? Maybe they have an online store that could help out.

Best of luck though.

If you can risk it, try stocking up and putting it in your stock vs your catering and play dumb if you are caught.

Why would you want to risk illegally importing anything? There is probably a good reason for the restrictions. Playing stupid may or may not work. If you piss off an Ag inspector or Customs inspector, they can put you on a watch list or place your aircraft on a watch list. Then, EVERYTIME you or the aircraft enters the country, you WILL get hassled. Not worth it, believe me.

Shoreleave:

You've obviously not flown much international, not that there is anything wrong with that. One day you will have the pleasure of returning to the States after a 10 hour flight and have the Inspector order a COMPLETE inspection of the aircraft. The crew AND passengers will have to take everything off the aircraft, baggage, catering, stock, liquor cabinet and wait for the it all to be hand inspected. Then they will go through the aircraft looking at every crevice for anything out of order. Two hours later, you can go on your merry way, unless of course, you were acting stupid.

Back to my original statement, why would you want to do anything that might piss off an Ag or Customs Inspector?
